Yes, our kids crash mat cover is machine washable! We have kids of our own and completely understand how those little hands can sometimes get into mischief! The fabric covers can be easily removed at any time and are 100% machine washable. We recommend washing in cold water and hang drying to prevent fabric shrinkage and keep the colors as intact as possible. We also suggest using a water-based detergent.

During the process of developing our product, we made diligent efforts to obtain materials from nearby sources and carry out manufacturing operations within Canada. Today, we take pride in the fact that our product design originates from Montreal, while our foam and zippers are fabricated in Quebec, and our covers are fully manufactured in Laval. Although our intention is to eventually acquire fabric from local suppliers, we currently procure fabrics made in China through a reputable Canadian distributor.

We strongly believe that sourcing and manufacturing locally offer several advantages, including maintaining strict control over the quality of our products and extending support to other local businesses, which in turn creates more employment opportunities for Canadians. Is the foam safe?

As the safety of children is our utmost concern, we have exclusively chosen to construct our crash pad using CertiPUR-US® certified foam, which represents the highest industry standard. This certification ensures that our foam is free from flame retardants, mercury, lead, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates. Moreover, we have taken measures to minimize volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to safeguard indoor air quality. By utilizing CertiPUR-US® foam in our crash pad, we prioritize the well-being of children and provide peace of mind to our customers.

Can you tell me more about the ILD of your foam?

Through extensive testing with our young testers, we have carefully selected a foam with an ILD (Indentation Load Deflection) of 60 and a density of 1.5 lbs/ft3 for our crash pad. This particular choice was made with two key considerations in mind. Firstly, we wanted to ensure that the crash pad remains lightweight enough for children to handle and move the pieces on their own. Secondly, we took into account the thickness of our bases, which provides the necessary strength and durability over time. By striking the right balance between weight and robustness, we have designed a crash pad that is both manageable for kids and built to last.

Is your foam compressed?

Absolutely, our crash pad orders undergo compression before being packaged and shipped to you.

The compression process takes place specifically when the crash pad is being prepared for shipment, ensuring that it can fit neatly into its packaging. Once compressed, the crash pad can comfortably remain in its box for a period of up to two weeks without any concerns. However, it is important to note that we advise against waiting any longer than that, as foam cells that are compressed for an extended duration may risk potential damage. Therefore, we recommend timely unpacking and setting up of the crash pad to ensure its optimal condition upon arrival.

What about the fabric?

The crash pad is crafted from a Micro Brushed Velveteen fabric, which is a blend of polyester and cotton. This fabric is specifically chosen for its exceptional ability to prevent pieces from slipping apart and effectively hold builds together. It features a soft and low pile texture, offering a velvety finish with subtle modeling effects throughout. Not only will you appreciate the smooth sensation it provides, but you will also admire the luxurious appearance of its velvety finish.

Additionally, our fabric meets fire retardant standards without the need for any additional sprays or chemicals.
